Brammo rider, Mark Buckley was pleased with the run.  “I think the bike had a bit more in it, but we have to be happy with third overall.  I was thrilled to be a part of this team.  They worked hard all week, and we made some history.”

FinesDoubleThe Fines Double Racing Team has successfully defended its 2009 SCORE championship run with a victory in class 26 (Pro Utility ATV) at the 41st Annual SCORE Baja 500.

We felt we were prepared for anything, that is until we lost our pit captain, Alex Waters, to a prior injury,” said Rutherford. Waters had to be taken to a San Felipe hospital during the team’s week of pre-running. An injury he received, while riding his ATV in Utah the week before, turned into a serious infection shortly after he arrived in Mexico. The guys kept running their sections, but with frequent calls to the San Felipe hospital. Waters was never far from their minds. Unfortunately, Waters would not be able to leave the hospital before race day, due to complex surgery and high doses of antibiotics. After some changes to the pit strategy, the Fines Double Team was once again ready to race.

The Fines Double Race Team would like to thank its sponsors that made this win possible: Arctic Cat, Elka Suspension, Green Ball Tires, Fluidyne Radiators, Klim, Rox Risers, Speedwerx, RTT Stabilizers, Vision X Off Road Lights, Planetmoto.com, Douglas Wheels, Motion Pro and Spider Grips.

Finish

Look for the Arctic Cat and Fines Double Racing Team at the BITD Vegas to Reno “The Long Way” Race in August, and then again at the Baja 1000 in November, where the team intends to nail down the first ever SCORE Utilty Class Championship.

H&M’s Davi Haagsma pulled his very first win in the WORCS Pro-Am class earlier this month in Toutle, Wa. Haagsma, who had to start off the back row, came from all the way back to win in the unfamiliar wooded atmosphere.

We had a small mishap with a rear shock and sign-ups on Sunday, but Davi came from way back and laid down very consistent lap times to come away with the well deserved victory. He’s been training really hard and has gotten alot stronger over the last several months and we credit that to Vernie Ogden from Personal Edge Fitness (Davi’s trainer). All in all, it was a great weekend for our team.”

Allan McCostlin of H&M Team manager McCostlin gambled a bit as well and it ended up paying off.

I could see Motowork’s Zimmerman coming into pit and I decided, “Well it’s now or never” so I elected to send Davi one extra lap before fueling. He was able to get around Dillon on hot pit and when he came back around for pit, we didn’t give him water, no goggles, just a splash of gas and go. It was enough to keep him out front for the remainder of the race.”

McCostlin H&M’s Justin Klinger continues to get faster in the B class and he will be back for Straddleline as well. Both Klinger and Haagsma are having a great year for the H&M crew…

Because of the involvement of the Beckman family in racing, we realize that the next generation of pro racers will certainly increase the level of competitiveness on the circuits.

Greg Beckman who is the founder of Apex Motor builds the ATVs that the Beckman Brothers race with, and they are winning big time. He now builds and sells a full line of Pro MXR Long Travel 50/70/85/90/100 ATVs.

The whole family are committed to racing and they are setting a great example to all, but they are mostly great contributors to the future of our sport.

Teri Beckman quoted « These classes were all won with the Elka shocks of course.  Thanks to your help setting the shocks up and adjusting them at Adelanto and again here at the Toutle race!

Your help was greatly appreciated.  In the rough conditions, the kids faced at Riverdale, without the shocks being dialed in the boys could have never done it!  It is easier to go fast with a good suspension set up.  I am so happy to have the Elka shocks on our quads. — We are looking to bring Apex and Elka 6 maybe 7 National Championships! »

You are greatly appreciated.

This is Chris from the United Kingdom. – I just wanted to let you know that my new Pro Elite shocks are awesome!  They worked fantastically well on the 1st round of the track National at Duns.

This track features many big doubles and also two « whoops » sections and the ground is made up of hard packed clay.  I struggled a little on power but my dad is working on some more engine modifications. Thanks to my Elka shocks, I posted 3rd & 3rd in both motos finishing 3rd overall on the day.

Thanks.

In the second race of the « France Endurance Championship Series » which was held in Clastre in l’Aisne, Greg Lassaigne managed to cross the finish line first after a long and challenging race.  The weather was calm and even if Lassaigne feels at home on this circuit, he still had to be the fastest on a track that has 23 jumps. – You can only imagine the beating on the frame and suspensions.

Toutle, WA: 06/09/09 – Mike Cafro who is team MCR’s owner and manager is a very happy man these days as his new team and new rider Beau Baron managed to cross the finish line in the number one position for a second race in a row. – This gives them a comfortable lead in this year’s WORCS Pro Championship.

Beau Baron captured his last win on the Riverdale raceway situated in Toutle WA. This beautiful 4.3 mile loop is situated 60 miles north of the Oregon border.

Track conditions were perfect and so was the weather during this last race before going into the summer break.  Team owner Cafro and rider Baron will certainly enjoy this vacation time. Let’s hope it continues afterwards.

beda1Leon Beda on board his Yamaha YFZ 450 managed to put out the fourth fastest time during qualification on the Asham Woods track in Frome, Somerset on Sunday may 24th, thus giving him a good spot at the gate in order to reach the holeshot in a good position.

Conditions were difficult because of the heat and dust, so Beda rode more defensively to keep Macbeth at bay and finish in the fifth spot, which in turn consolidated enough points to give him the fourth overall.

In the latter stages of race two, the dust became a problem for the riders but this did not refrain Leon to make a bold attempt of overtaking KTM UK’s Team Rider Paul Holmes and grab the third spot, but Holmes was solidly defending his line on the steep hill in front of Beda who had to brake hard which cost him several bike lengths and his momentum.

Beda was able to ride hard all day long and with confidence thanks to the Elka\Laeger suspension.

Leon Beda is now concentrating on taking third place in the Championship.
