Team Alba Racing, led by Wayne Matlock from El Cajon in California, rode the fastest to claim their second victory this season, maintaining their overall lead in this race series. His teammates this year were Harold Goodman Jr., Wes Miller and Josh Caster. The team was racing aboard a Honda TRX700XX equipped with Elka Suspension’s Factory Shocks, finishing the grueling course in 9:36:23 and take the victory.
Race results are still unofficial until Wednesday, awaiting confirmation with the tracking data.
Information sources mention that podiums in every ATV category were filled with Elka-equipped teams, most of them using the Factory Shock as well.

Baja 500 unofficial results…
More details of the race are finally coming in and we expect that it might take another day before the race officials finish reviewing the Tracking Data needed to officially declare the winners.
If the results don’t change, the three top finishers in the PRO ATV’s class were riding on Elka shocks and the two top winners to step on the podium in the class 24 were also using Elka suspensions.
Wayne Matlock who won in the number one spot in the class 25 quoted « It was awesome today.
No one made any mistakes all day. We got the quad over to Wes and he got us in the lead and we just took off from there. Once we got into the lead, we didn’t see any other quads. There were just a bunch of motorcycles in our way. We had a good team of riders. It’s always exciting to win in Baja. »

Craig Christy who is part of the winning team quoted « We had about a 30-minute lead starting about halfway through the race and we just kept it there and started trying to save the bike and that was it. I almost hit three outbound trucks in the last 20 miles. I almost did a header with a Class 7 truck that I guess just got going. Other than that, no close calls and no problems. It was an uneventful day. We had a flawless bike and never changed a tire. We just kept putting fuel in and going.»
