Ayrton’s 2015 season seemed to be going from strength to strength after a 1-1-2 at Foxhills moto park which was Rd 4 of the British 250 open championship . Ayrton came away with a 14 point lead in the overall and his lap times were consistently 3 to 4 seconds quicker than his nearest rival Lorne Sinclair . A week later he extended his lead by another 90 points in the Northern area championship with a 1-1-1 .

Round 5 of the British was at the new venue of Cusses Gores . Ayrton topped qualifying by just 1.75 sec,s but although this gave him pick on the gate he just couldn’t get a good start all day his best would be a 4th place round turn 1, his main rival Sinclair pulling away by 5 sec,s at the end of the first lap !. Ayrton dug in and pulled through to chase Sinclair over the line by less than half a quad length . Even though he would record the fastest lap time in all 3 races 2-2-2 was the best he could make and would drop 9 points to Sinclair .

Round 6 at Grittenham Mx was a hard day ,qualified 2nd which was OK . First race gated 2nd but got tagged in the 3rd turn and spun sideways in the middle of the track ,finally getting away in 17th place and had to fight back to 4th by the flag .

Race 2 he had a race long battle with Sinclair but was unable to make a pass on the fast hard pack surface and had to settle for 2nd .

Race 3 Ayrton was on the rear wheels of Sinclair but only 2 laps in and the engine died ! Ayrton frantically checking for any problems and found the wire off the HT coil !! once replaced the motor fired up ,but the problem hadn’t gone away and it came off at least 3 times every lap .This would drop him down to 12th at the end of the 18 minute race ,worst still Sinclair would take the win and also now is the championship leader by 32 points . With 3 British Championship  events left in the season Ayrton will have to fight all the way if he is going to get the #1 plate .  Ayrton would like to say “Thanks to every one for your continued support and rest assure I will take the fight to the very last lap “.
