Ignacio Casale re-enshrined in the history of the Dakar rally. After 9,000 kilometers of competition, the Chilean was second in its category, after disputing the number one with the Russian Serguey Karyakin.
The Chilean successfully finished the edition after two years of abandonment due to mechanical problems and accidents, which gives him a particular satisfaction that filled the only Chilean in the race with pride in winning the race.
“I finished the Dakar after two years of not being able to finish it, in 2014 I won it, in 2015 I retired, in 2016 as well. I overcame all the obstacles, I overcame all the problems and all the scares and I ran the Dakar again to finish it ”
“I fulfilled my two main goals and here I am happy, happy and very excited because it has cost me a lot. I am a little bit shocked by all this, because the truth, I waited for a long time and it has been really a nice race,” he added. .
“For me it is the best Dakar I have ever run, since I took the whole experience during all these almost 80,000 kilometers of Dakar that I have in the body, and I was able to beat the new generations that come very strong.” .
Ignacio Casale will return tomorrow to Chile, to rest and later begin his preparation for his sports commitments of 2017 and the 2018 Dakar!
