Millfield, OH (July 8, 2017) – With rain in the forecast, Round 3 of the UTV GNCC series was shaping up to be an interesting weekend as usual. The Penton was said to be the longest running GNCC venue on the circuit with approximately 20+ years and running. On top of its long running history, it also pays tribute to a legendary figure in the Motorcycle industry, Mr. John Penton himself. With the rain ending Friday night about 8:30 and with sunshine and a nice breeze on Saturday, the track was tacking up really nice for the 4:30 start.

“Thanks to my Ballistic Battery and Millennium Technologies powered engine my XP1K came off the starting line like a rocket almost grabbing the holeshot” – said Yokley, as he headed into the woods in 3rd place after some very close and exciting action on the second turn dodging Kyle Chaney as he spun out in front of the Yokley Racing/Factory RZR team causing them to move back in position.

Yokley was running in a comfortable 3rd on the first lap when a driver hit him from behind locking the two cars together with their bumpers causing him to fall from 3rd to 14th overall.

“I didn’t really know if we were going to get the cars untangled” – said Yokley while stating that he almost smoked his belt in the process.

Things really didn’t get any better as the team battled with other drivers pushing to get back to the lead pack while landing under power on the mx track that twisted the drive shaft that eventually broke. Losing 4wd at that point, Yokley just drove to the best of his ability to finish in the slick conditions in order to salvage points.
Pushing through till the end payed off as the Yokley Racing/Polaris moved up from 5th place in points to 4th in the overall points chase.
The Yokley Racing Polaris Team would like to thank its 2017 sponsors for all that they do: Polaris Industries, RT Pro, Elka Suspension, STI, CP Carillo, Millennium Technologies, Ballistic Batteries, Hess Racing, OMF.
