Atascadero, CA (9/17/2019) – CST’s Beau Baron won his fourth consecutive Pro ATV race and scored two runner-up finishes in the Pro SXS classes during the WORCS racing weekend at Glen Helen Raceway in Devore, CA. The ATV win puts him into position to clinch the championship at the next race.

The normal Glen Helen course was modified slightly from recent years with several short turns added to the track’s long straightaways. Along with being a fast course, the changes brought technicality to the Southern California track.

Baron fell to third at the start of the ATV race but was quickly back into the lead on lap two. From there, he cruised to victory. His fifth win in six races this season, which has extended his points lead to 19 points.

“The CST Tires, Sparks Motor, and my Elka suspension was off the charts. Everything flowed today and that’s what it takes to get wins,” said Baron.

In the SXS Pro race, Baron drove his naturally aspirated Polaris RZR RS1 to a second-place finish. Though bad luck at the Vegas round has effectively taken him out of contention for the championship, Baron is determined to put in a good showing.

“I may be out of the championship now, but I’m back on the box where I should be,” said Baron. “I couldn’t be happier with the weekend. It was so hot out here this weekend that they were just dropping like flies. I figured having an RS1 would help at the end of the race. It’s NA—no turbo—so at the start you could see we were down on power. But after that, my Sparks engine ripped and I was able to keep moving up to the two spot.”

In the SXS Pro Stock race, Baron took the holeshot thanks to his CST Tires but fell back to second on the first lap. He finished second, earned his second consecutive podium, and remains in championship contention.

“I chose the CST Stags for this track because of the soft soil on the starting line and they got me off to a great start,” said Baron. “I can’t thank Elka enough. Doug Roll and I did five days of testing at my house and this setup is night and day better. The Elkas are coming along so well.”

The WORCS Series next heads to Honolulu Hills Raceway in Taft, CA for the second-to-last round of the season October 4-6.
