Janssen Dominates at Hangtime MX
The Mountain Dew AMA ATV Motocross National Championship has come and gone. The off season is in full effect, but Pro Class rookie Cody Janssen is “training like round one is tomorrow”, ones close to him are saying. Cody is spending countless hours in the gym, but unlike last year is staying on the bike and riding multiple days a week in hopes to stay in midseason form. “My fitness is outstanding right now and I want to keep it that way…I feel like if I stay on the bike my ceiling will be that much higher in 2014.” Janssen said.
After signing new deals with Elka Suspension, Walsh Racecraft, ThorMX, and others, the FSI/Janssen rider has been doing a lot of testing in the last few weeks but last weekend decided to change it up and travel to Indiana’s Hangtime MX and compete with couple hundred bucks on the line. Cody and his #40 machine would go on to win in dominant fashion, winning both Quad A motos by 20-30 seconds. “Cody Janssen, the Pro” being in attendance was the talk of the track, but so was how well his Elka/Walsh combo looked to be working and how well Thor’s 2014 Prime Gear looked that he was wearing looked. He was not only going extremely fast, but looking good in the process as well.
“2014 already looks so bright for my team and me, and today just proves that.” Janssen said on Labor Day after the races had concluded. “I know for a fact that I can go faster now that I’m on Walsh and these new Elka’s are phenomenal. I also need to give a little plug here to Thor. This new Prime gear is so comfortable; the pants are made of jersey material! [laughs] From set up to gear, and everything in between, I know that I am improving and setting myself up for success. The sky is definitely the limit in2014, I’m just getting started!…And a big thanks goes out to everyone that made this great weekend happen from the Davis family, my parents, to the guys in the shop who worked all day on a holiday weekend to get my bike together and ride-able, and everyone else, I can’t thank everyone enough!”
Lastly, Cody must thank all of his sponsors. First and foremost his great team, Team Janssen Motorsports FSI, Roy, Faye, and Troy Hill, Jimmy Sims, his amazing family, friends, and fan base. Also a huge shout out to Elka Suspension for everything they do for Cody! “I always know I have the best suspension out there, the Elka Stage 5 is unmatched. Great product and even greater people!” Also, Maxxis Tires, SSI Decals, Walsh Racecraft, Renthal, DP Brakes, Thor MX, 100%, Oshkosh Tattoo and Good Girl Piercing, Dynamite ATV, Tweeked Powderworks, Rath, Motoworks, Hinson Clutches, Stephen Propson at P501, CP Pistons, KIK ATV, Herbalife, Don Straus, Andrew Vogt/EVR, 136 Photography, Terry Moore at Advanced Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine, his phenomenal mechanics Todd and Dan, and everyone else that supports him.
