Patrick Beaulé Finishes Dakar with a Proposal!
St. Bruno, QC, January 20, 2013 – Aldo Racing/KTM Canada rider Patrick Beaulé today became the first Canadian to complete the grueling Dakar Rally on both a motorcycle and in a car. The Quebec native rode a KTM 450 Rally Replica motorcycle to 62nd place out of 125 finishers, and 196 starters of 2013 edition of the event 15 days ago. Patrick also finished last year with fellow Canadian David Bensadoun in the car category.
Patrick finished the event on the podium accompanied by his support crew from Rally Raid UK, his fellow Quebecois and head-mechanic JF Charlot, and his girlfriend of several years Frederique Saindon. On the finisher’s podium in front of thousands of spectators and a television audience, Beaule surprised all by proposing marriage to Saindon. She accepted.
“I came here to the Dakar and meet my goal of finishing well and of establishing a Canadian record. Mission accomplished!” said Beaule. “Along the way, there were of course many difficult moments, and they make you realize what the most important things are in life. Spending the rest of my life with Frede is one of them – I couldn’t think of a better time or place to ask her to marry me.” added Patrick.

Patrick Beaulé fini le Dakar, fait une proposition
Saint-Bruno, QC, le 20 janvier, 2013 – Le motocycliste Québécois Aldo Racing/KTM Canada Patrick Beaulé est devenu aujourd’hui le premier Canadien à terminer le rallye Dakar à la fois sur une moto et en voiture. Le Québécois a piloté sa moto KTM 450 Rallye Réplica et a terminé l’édition 2013 de l’événement en 62e place parmi les 125 finissants, et ce sur 196 participants au départ. Patrick a également complété cette course l’année dernière avec son compatriote canadien David Bensadoun dans la catégorie auto.
Patrick a terminé l’épreuve sur le podium en compagnie de son équipe de soutien de la compagnie Rallye Raid UK, de son compatriote québécois et mécanicien JF Charlot, et de sa copine de nombreuses années Frédérique Saindon. Sur le podium de finissants, devant des milliers de spectateurs et de téléspectateurs, Beaulé a surpris tout le monde en proposant le mariage à Saindon. Elle a, bien sûr, accepté.
«Je suis venu ici au Dakar pour rencontrer un objectif de terminer en bonne position et d’établir un record canadien. C’est réussi», a déclaré Beaulé. “Sur le chemin, il y avait bien sûr beaucoup de moments difficiles, et ces moments nous font réaliser les choses les plus importantes dans la vie. Épouser Frede c’est surement un des plus importants d’entre eux – je ne pouvais pas penser à un meilleur moment ni endroit pour lui demander de m’épouser”, a ajouté Patrick.
