Northeast Ohio based Vechery Racing formally announces its plans to make the trip to Underground MX Park in Kemp, TX on October 4-6, 2013 to participate in the much anticipated 2013 ATV Pro Challenge in Memory of Caleb Moore. For 2014 Vechery Racing is expanding its race team to a dedicated three rider effort spanning the AMA ATV Pro Class, ATVA Pro-Am and ATVA A classes with riders Scottie Vechery, AMA ATV Pro Rookie of the Year Tyler Hamrick and series veteran Tim Dettling. “We are honored to get the invite to this prestigious event and are looking forward to show casing our expanded 2014 race team in Texas.
We have recently signed with new suspension supplier Elka Suspension for 2014 and are excited to debut our new Stage 5 shocks paired with the Six 5 Design suspension components”
said team owner Gloria Vechery.
Making his return to racing in the amateur classes at the 2013 ATV Pro Challenge in Memory of Caleb Moore is 22 year old Scottie Vechery. Scottie has been recovering from multiple injuries sustained in 2012 and has been working the past few weeks getting back into riding shape for 2014. “I’ve been riding as much as possible the past few weeks working on the bike setup and trying to get back into riding shape. This is the first time we really have put a lot of effort into testing and bike setup and I really feel it will help for next year,” said Vechery about 2014.
After a successful 2013 AMA rookie season that saw Rookie of the Year honors as well as multiple wins in the highly competitive Pro-Am class, sophomore Pro rider Tyler Hamrick is looking forward to joining Vechery Racing full time for 2014. “I have been watching videos from the Underground MX Park and the track looks unreal. I can’t wait to get out there and ride,” said Hamrick.
What was shaping up to be an outstanding year for Pro rookie Tim Dettling ultimately came to an immediate and very unfavorable stop for the Pro-Am points leader at the fourth round of the AMA Pro series when Dettling found himself sidelined with a broken femur, hip and pelvis. Since the unfortunate accident back in May, Dettling has undergone multiple surgeries to try and expedite his return to racing. “I’m not really sure yet where I am at physically but I will be riding in the ATV Pro Challenge to help celebrate the memory of Caleb Moore and to get some much needed seat time,” said Dettling.
Vechery Racing would like to thank all of their loyal 2013 sponsors and we look forward to announcing our full 2014 sponsor lineup in the near future.
