It’s late May, summer is near, and the world’s most prestigious ATV racing series is in full swing – now nearing its midpoint. This past weekend the ATV Motocross National Championship rolled
into High Point Raceway in Mount Morris, Pennsylvania. The weather forecast looked grim as racing neared, but it would end up being a perfect weekend just outside of Morgantown, WV. Race attendance numbers were down somewhat due to the expected forecast, but the cream of the crop were in attendance, of course, and ready to do battle on the freshly designed High Point Raceway circuit. The individuals who didn’t make the trip out east would regret it, as the new track design made for some spectacular racing!

The Junior 25+ division has been one of the most entertaining classes to watch at each national event this season. Cody Janssen and current points leader Nick Moser, both professional ATV  racers, have been duking it out all season long with over half the season still ahead of them — but this weekend was all Cody Janssen’s. After making a quick aggressive, but clean, pass for the lead on the opening lap of Moto 1, Janssen piloted his Cody Janssen Riding School/Swartfager Farms #25 machine to a first moto win! After a little overnight rain, conditions were fairly wet for Sunday’s Moto 2, but the result would be the same. Cody Janssen grabbed the holeshot and lead wire to wire, grabbing the overall win with a perfect 1-1 score. As it currently stands, Cody sits just 4 points back in the championship standings heading into Muddy Creek, TN (Jun 2-3).

“[I am] grateful to be in this position and grab the win this weekend!” Janssen said with a smile after his podium celebration. “I’ve been working really hard, and to see it pay off like this makes [the victory] feel extra special. We’re right where we need to be, getting stronger and stronger…heading into some of my best tracks. [I am going to] keep grinding and keep this rolling. I live for this!”
