Jarrod McClure earned his first podium finish of the season at the Big Buck GNCC

JMR / ATVriders.com rider Jarrod McClure returned to the podium at round four of the Grand National Cross Country Series this past weekend in Union, South Carolina. Jarrod battled through the dusty conditions all day to secure third overall in the XC1 Pro Class. JMR teammate Randy Hamilton pulled his third consecutive holeshot in the XC2 Pro Am class and finished seventh for the day.
Round four of the GNCC series returned to the Big Buck race course in Union South Carolina, this track has been on the circuit for years and is typically a dry, hot, and super rough track. This year was all of that and more with an exciting new creek jump added to the mix.
McClure started near the back of the 12-rider pack after a wild first turn crash involving other riders.  The dusty conditions made it tough to come through the pack but Jarrod was able to get past a few guys each lap on his JMR Honda.

“The start was wild with that crash in the first turn and quads were scattered everywhere but once in line I knew what I had to do, and that was get to the front with the leaders before they were gone. The pace was real fast today and I was happy how my Elka and Teixeira-Tech suspension worked out there,” – said McClure.

DWT’s McClure found himself in the third position on the last lap where he would catch Adam McGill and then the duo of Honda riders ran down Brycen Neal who was leading at the time. McClure could not make a pass for a better position as he got dusted out in the final field section, and at the finish was in third overall for the day.

“I am very happy to be back on the podium, I know what I am capable of and am glad the hard work is paying off. I have the speed, and I think if I can get a good start I will have a good shot at getting back in the center of the box,” – said McClure on the days results.

JMR’s XC2 Pro Am racer Randy Hamilton pulled his third straight holeshot and took the early lead once again. Randy ran into some problems on the course and fell back in the pack, but was able to salvage seventh position for the day.
