RD2 QRS Championships, Duns, 24th April 2011.

John Mitchell made it a perfect four wins out of four so far this season as he won round two of the Quad Racing Scotland Championship onboard his ATV World Laeger’s Yamaha YZF450R.

Held on Sunday 24th April at the Duns motocross circuit in Scotland, the riders and machines were pushed hard by the demanding and technical track.

Race one started well and ATV World Yamaha Factory rider John Mitchell got a good start, riding near the front and keeping the pace. As the race got to the halfway mark, he began pressing for the win. First passing Paul Holmes, then catching and overtaking Mark Watson with a quarter of the race still to go. John won with the fasted lap and made an excellent start to the three race afternoon.

As the gates dropped for race two there was some confusion as several of the riders’ gates stayed up. The race continued in spite of this. As a result, both John and Mark Watson were left at the back and John knew it would be a challenge from here. He didn’t panic and battled through the pack, eventually taking an incredible second place finish just behind Paul Holmes.

Race three was text book stuff as John took the holeshot and led from start to finish, taking the overall win in the process and making himself unbeatable in the last four rounds he has raced this year!

John said: “I’m really chuffed with my performance so far this year and pleased to be on the pace at the hard packed tracks with the new bike. It truly has been awesome.”

All three podium places were won on Goldspeed tyres, proving just how important good tyres are when it comes to championship contention.
