BeauBonsall, CA – MCR/Maxxis Tires’ Beau Baron put in a solid performance to claim second on the Pro podium at round six of the 2010 WORCS series while David Haagsma and Keith Johnson would take the number one and two spots in the Pro-am class and Julie Russell would take the win in the Women’s A class.

Cahuilla Creek Motocross Park was the hosting facility where dry dusty condition prevailed but that didn’t deter Beau Baron as he charged off the line in third place. Baron soon found himself in second behind Dustin Nelson and was able to overtake Nelson when the Yamaha rider got hung up on a berm. Baron led for most of the race, but it wasn’t without a fight as Josh Frederick was challenging him for most of the race. In the final lap, Baron got caught behind a slower rider, which allowed Frederick to get around and force Baron to settle for second. “I’m looking forward to going back up to Washington. I like racing in the woods and I think it gives me an advantage,” said Baron who is determined to take the win at round seven and try to take back the points lead.

Josh Row was on a mission as well as he charged from the back of the pack to finish in the top five. Row started out in twelfth place off the line, but he put the hammer down and worked his way to the number five spot by the midway point and soon after that he would take over fourth and hold his position for several laps before crossing the finish line. Row’s amazing consistency this season has him sitting in third place in the Pro points chase.

MCR/Maxxis team manager Mike Cafro has a solid race as well. Cafro was dead last off the line, but put his head down and charged his way to the number five spot where he would stay until reaching the checkered flag. Cafro is currently holding down the number six spot in points, but could work his way to the top five before the end of the season if things go well for him.

“At the last round I stopped and helped another rider who was pinned under his quad and that put me back in points, but I’ll be doing my best out there to make up for it,” stated Cafro. Levi Marana was looking good and holding a mid-pack pace, but Marana would encounter issues and drop back for a thirteenth place finish. Despite missing a round earlier in the season, Marana is still within the top ten in the pro points race.

David Haagsma and Keith Johnson were on fire in the Pro-am class as the pair would charge hard and dominate the Pro-am podium. Haagsma, who has been doing double duty by racing at the AMA ATV Motocross Championships has really picked up a lot of speed and has been an almost unstoppable force as he picked up his fourth win of the season at round six, giving him an incredible 47 point lead. Keith Johnson has also proved that he has what it takes as his second place finish this round has put him in a comfortable second in Pro-am points.

Women’s A racer Julie Russell took her fifth straight win of the season at round six and if all goes well, she could be wrapping up the championship early. Julie has done a great job so far this year and we are very proud of her and we are hoping she will bring the championship to the team,” stated Mike Cafro.

The MCR/Maxxis team will be heading to the state of Washington for round seven of the 2010 WORCS series, which will be held on July 24th –25th at Straddleline ORV Park where Beau Baron will try to take the Pro win.
