AtascaderoCA (11/1/2021 CST’s Beau Baron clinched a record ninth WORCS Pro ATV championship with his sixth win of the season, and then scored a pair of podiums in the SXS classes during a productive weekend at Mesquite MX in Nevada.

In Pro ATV, Baron was on a mission to get ahead early and dominant the race. He did just that and secured his sixth win in eight races this season. He was also able to change the storyline at the Mesquite track, which has issued more than its share of heartbreaks for Baron.

“Clinching the championship here is a huge relief,” said Baron. “This place has been by nemesis in the past due to random things, so to get the results I’ve had this weekend has really changed my opinion of the track.”

The track, which featured a motocross track combined with deep sand off-road sections, was no match for his Honda equipped with CST Tires. Combined with the Sparks engine and Elka suspension, Baron was dominant all weekend.

“Roll Design did such a good job tuning the Elkasuspension and my CST tires hooked up well in the sand,” said Baron. “This Sparks motor has been running for half of the year and has been spot on. This bike build is sophenomenal that I’m going to try to replicate it for next year.”

In SXS Pro Production Turbo, Baron narrowly avoided a pileup in the first corner, and then successfully ran up front the entire race to finish third in his Polaris RZR.

“I got a couple of laps of clear track and that was a blast,” said Baron. “I caught up to Davy, but it was so narrow and Davy was putting in a good pace, and you don’t want to sit right behind him and get roosted. So, I backed it down a little bit and settled for what I had.”

In SXS Pro Stock, Baron fought through braking issues caused by contact with track debris. He was gaining on the eventual winner, when he hit a bumper dislodged from another competitor’s car and settled for second.

“I put on a gnarly pace on one lap and gained nine seconds on him,” said Baron. “I tried to do that the next lap, but there was a bumper in the middle of the track with the sharp sides up. It was too late to change lanes. It came up and ripped off my right rear brake line. So, I knew at that point I had to drive it within limitations and I’m really happy to pull off a second.”

One aspect of his program that remained consistent throughout the races were Baron’s CST tires. Mesquite is known for its deep sand and Baron had excellent grip to keep him in contention.

“The CST tires pulled me through the sand from the start to the finish,” said Baron. “The sand was so deep there were train track ruts and I didn’t lose any time.”

Baron will finish out another successful WORCS season November 12-14 at Buffalo Bill’s Resort in Primm, NV.
