Gareth Dihel from the Pro Motorsports team finished with an overall win in the SXS 1000 Stock class as the SXS World Finals on January 26th in Primm, NV. His teammate Matt Hancock had bad luck with clutching issues throughout the race but managed a 9th overall place.
The race was a double header for Saturday and Sunday. Dihel came out strong early on the Saturday race with a second place finish and he finished 1st on Sunday for the overall victory.
“I was feeling really good this weekend” said Dihel. “I’m going for the championship this year.”
Matt Hancock was not as lucky with mechanical issues all weekend long. He still managed to score a 9th overall finish.
“It was a rough weekend to start the year. We have a lot of racing left this season so we’re going to get the cars back to the shop, get them fixed and press on” said Hancock after the weekend.
Pro Motorsports’ Dihel and Hancock will be back in action in WORCS series on February 17-19 at the Honolulu Hills Raceway in Taft, CA.
