Mesquite MX WORCS Pro Race Report

Atascadero, CA (10/8/2018) – CST’s Beau Baron finished second in the Pro Stock SXS portion of the WORCS racing weekend at Mesquite MX. The ATV race was canceled due to a fatality at the track on Sunday. Baron’s teammate Mitch Anderson finished third in the Pro 2 motorcycle race.

In the Pro Stock race, Baron snagged the holeshot, but lost the lead late in the event. He battled back and finished second, scoring his sixth straight podium. He holds the points lead going into the season finale in November.

“I got the holeshot, and Corbin was pressuring me,” said Baron. “He had some better lines than I did. On the last lap I tried to pass him, but he got past a lapper and I got hosed for three corners. He was driving awesome and it was his day today.”

With a combination of a hard-packed big air motocross track and a deep sand off-road section, Baron chose CST’s Stag tires for the event. They worked perfectly in the two divergent track surfaces.

“The CST tires were awesome,” said Baron. “I usually run the Dingoes, but the Stags really helped me out in the sand here. They were awesome.”

With the cancelation of the Pro ATV race, October’s season finale race will offer double points. Baron is ready for the win-and-become-champion scenario.

“If they just canceled this event I would have a five-point lead, so I would have finish second or third,” said Baron. “Now it goes down to the last round. It’s going to be Sloan or me.”
