Josh Row (3rd) & Beau Baron (1st)

Bonsall, CA – MCR MCR/Maxxis Tire’s Beau Baron took the win and took over the Pro points lead at round eight of the 2010 WORCS series while teammate Josh Row joined him on the podium in a respectable third, and Julie Russell wrapped up the Women’s A class championship with her seventh straight win of the season.

Glen Helen Raceway was the hosting facility for round eight where unseasonably hot, triple digit temperatures greeted racers and the pressure was on for Beau Baron with only two points separating him and Josh Frederick for the points lead.

Beau Baron held his ground, taking third off the start behind Dillon Zimmerman and Dustin Nelson. Shortly into lap two, Baron took over the lead with Dustin Nelson close behind. Baron held off Nelson for a couple of laps and then began to pull away. Baron ran a flawless race and recorded the fastest lap of the race in lap three with a time of 11:14:664, which helped him take the Pro win and take over the Pro points lead. “I’m really glad to have taken back the points lead, now I am going to be training hard so I can take the win at Mesquite and keep the championship,” said Baron.

Josh Row also ran a very strong race. Row was in mid-pack off the start and worked his way into the number four spot by the second lap. In lap three, Row moved into third and held his position for seven laps to claim the final spot on the podium. Row’s podium finish has him holding steady at 139 points, putting him in third overall in the points chase. “Beau and Josh did a fantastic job this weekend and it was great to see them go one and three on the podium,” stated team manager Mike Cafro, who made a solid showing as he finished fourth in the Pro class.
